Ms. Kenia Cancio is the Director of Provider Relations at Doctor’s Medical Center. She oversees the areas that improve revenue cycle; credentialing, contracting, HEDIS and MRA Departments, EHR and Practice Management settings and workflows, billing, data and Project Management. She was born and raised in Cuba, where she was a Medical Student at Dr. Faustino Perez Hernandez Medicine Faculty in Santi Spiritus. From there, she emigrated to Miami and attended Miami Dade College, where she attained her Associate Degree in the Arts. A few years later, she got her Bachelor’s of Science in Healthcare Administration from Kaplan University. She has been working in the healthcare industry for over 15 years, where she began at Doctor’s Medical Center. She has had several achievements within the company such as, implementation of the EHR system and improvement of clinical documentation accuracy with paperless and comprehensive care and the use of custom made templates. She manages a convenient, centralized, claims and billing unit and was the founder of the Credentialing Department. She states, “I am a very honest, respectful, and ethical person. I am flexible and adaptable to changes in regards to the healthcare industry and the organization needs. I consider myself a dependable person who is attentive to details. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. Work is my second home and my colleagues are a very important piece of my life. I love to work in a team setting and sharing successes.”
